Equal Opportunity Cell

Equal Opportunity Cell

The Institution has established an Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) for the Academic Year 2024-25, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The primary objective of the EOC is to ensure the effective implementation of policies and programs aimed at promoting equal opportunities for disadvantaged groups within the institution. This includes providing guidance and counseling services to students from marginalized communities, addressing their academic, financial, social, and other concerns, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusivity on campus. To achieve its objectives, the EOC performs several key functions. Firstly, it endeavors to sensitize the academic community to the problems associated with social exclusion, as well as the aspirations of marginalized communities. This involves organizing workshops, seminars, and awareness programs to promote a better understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged groups. Secondly, the EOC provides support and guidance to individuals or groups of students belonging to disadvantaged sections of society, helping them to overcome problems related to discrimination and social exclusion. Finally, the EOC addresses the grievances of the weaker sections of society and works towards finding amicable solutions to their problems.During the Academic Year 2024-25, the EOC conducted one meeting to discuss its objectives, functions, and strategies for promoting equal opportunities on campus. Although this was the only meeting held during the year, it marked an important step towards establishing the EOC as a vital platform for promoting diversity, inclusivity, and social justice within the institution by taking 4 student members as volunteers. The EOC looks forward to organizing more meetings, workshops, and awareness programs in the future, with the aim of creating a more inclusive and equitable academic environment for all students. As a part of this we conducted a programme “ Unified Hues 2K24-Empowering all genders through unity and respect “ along with BBA Department from 19th to 23rd August 2024.In the coming year, the EOC plans to expand its activities and outreach, with a focus on building partnerships with student organizations, faculty members, and community groups. By working together, the EOC aims to create a campus culture that values diversity, promotes inclusivity, and supports the academic success and well-being of all students, regardless of their background or identity.
