Student Support Cells

Human Rights Protection Cell

Human Rights Protection CellAt Christ College of Science and Management, we strongly believe that a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment is the foundation for holistic education. In alignment with this belief, the Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) has been established to uphold the dignity and fundamental rights of every member of our college community.

The HRPC at our institution functions as a proactive body committed to ensuring that all students, faculty, and staff experience a campus environment free from discrimination, harassment, and inequality. The cell serves as a crucial mechanism for the promotion, protection, and enforcement of human rights within the college.

Key Activities and Initiatives of HRPC at Christ College

1. Grievance Redressal and Support

The HRPC provides a confidential and accessible platform for students and staff to report human rights violations, including discrimination, harassment, or any form of abuse. Every complaint is taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and resolved sensitively to ensure justice and accountability.

2. Legal and Psychological Assistance

We ensure that victims of human rights violations receive necessary legal guidance and emotional support. The HRPC coordinates with legal advisors and counselors to assist individuals in understanding their rights and overcoming trauma.

3. Awareness and Education Drives

Our HRPC conducts regular workshops, awareness campaigns, and interactive sessions on human rights-related topics such as equality, diversity, gender sensitization, anti-ragging, and the importance of mutual respect. These sessions are integrated into student orientation programs and faculty development initiatives.

4. Policy Development and Compliance

The HRPC works in close collaboration with the college administration to frame and implement policies that uphold human rights principles. This includes reviewing existing frameworks, recommending reforms, and ensuring that institutional rules are in line with national human rights laws.

5. Mediation and Conflict Resolution

Disputes or conflicts within the college community are addressed through mediation sessions facilitated by the HRPC. The goal is to resolve issues amicably while preserving the dignity of all parties involved.

6. Inclusive Campus CultureChrist College is deeply committed to inclusivity.

The HRPC actively promotes a zero-tolerance stance toward discrimination based on gender, caste, religion, language, ability, or background. It encourages a culture of empathy, understanding, and mutual respect across all student and staff interactions.

The Human Rights Protection Cell at Christ College of Science and Management is not just a regulatory body—it is a pillar of our institutional ethos that ensures every individual is respected, heard, and protected. Our continuous efforts through the HRPC reflect our unwavering commitment to creating a just, fair, and empowering academic ecosystem for all.
